Kids are naturally creative. We don’t have to teach them how to “think outside of the box.” They do that on their own. But as adults, we tend to hinder and discourage that, even when we mean to do the opposite. When a child comes with an idea, our first thoughts are often why that would not work.
This creativity toolkit includes practices to cultivate your own creativity, value and nurture the creativity of your staff, and train your staff to help youth embrace their innate creative abilities.
The “Outside of the Box” camp theme includes a week of activities that allow and encourage youth to discover their world, explore new ideas, and express themselves. Based on emerging trends in the field of Creativity and Innovation, this week’s activities are designed to engage youth in multiple ways of thinking, reframe common experiences, and embrace healthy risk.
