How do I register?

Click on REGISTER FOR FREE in the top menu.

If you do not want to be an author, click JOIN NOW in the Buyer box.

Create a username. This is the name you will use when you log in.

Add your email address. This is where your receipts and download links will be delivered.

Create a password.

Confirm the password by typing the same password again.

Click on REGISTER.

You’re all set.

How do I set-up or update my buyer profile?


Hover your mouse over MY PROFILE in the top menu.


Fill in your name and address. There is no need to change your password.

How do I purchase products/resources?

Go to the product page of the resource you want to buy.

Click on PURCHASE.

Click on CHECKOUT or click on the shopping cart icon in the top menu.

Select PAYPAL or CREDIT CARD as your payment option. If you choose CREDIT CARD, fill in the required information. If you choose PAYPAL, you will be taken to a PayPal checkout page when you click on PURCHASE.

Click on the box to agree to our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy. You can view them by clicking on SHOW TERMS.

When the purchase is complete a PURCHASE CONFIRMATION page will  come up showing your payment and a download link to your product.

Click on the link to download your resource.

You will also receive an email from Patchwork Marketplace. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it. The email will contain a receipt and the link to download your resource as well.

What are the payment options?

There are two payment options. PayPal and Credit Card.

You can use PayPal to pay with your PayPal account. PayPal also lets you pay with a credit card on their checkout page without needing a PayPal account.

Our main credit card processing is done through Stripe. Stripe accepts all major credit cards. We decided to go with Stripe because sometimes customers have a difficult time using their credit card with PayPal or don’t even realize they can use their credit card through PayPal.

When you go to check out you’ll be asked how you want to pay. Choose PayPal or Credit Card (Stripe).

What are Points used for?

Earn points and use them to get free resources.

Each author on Patchwork has at least one resource that can be purchased with points. If you don’t have enough points to purchase the resource, you can use the points you do have to partially pay for it, and the remainder can be paid by credit card. To view the resources that are eligible to be purchased with points click here.

There are two main ways to earn points.

  1. Make a purchase. You will receive 10 points for every $1 spent.
  2. Leave a review. You will receive 50 points for every review you leave. You can only leave reviews for resources you’ve purchased.

Points are automatically added to your account when you make a purchase or leave a review.

To view your points hover your mouse over MY PROFILE in the top menu, and click on MY POINTS.

How do I open a ZIP file?

A ZIP file is a compressed folder containing multiple files. It allows the seller to include multiple file in their resource. It also takes up less storage space than if the files were all separate due to the compression of the ZIP file.

It’s easy to open ZIP files on a Mac and PC.

ON A PC right click on the ZIP folder.

Choose “Extract All”.

Choose a destination, where you want to keep the resource files.

Click “Extract.”

ON A MAC double-click the ZIP file, and it should extract automatically.

If that doesn’t work, hold down the control key and click the ZIP file icon.

Choose “Open With” and then select “Archive Utility.” The utility will extract the ZIP files and you can find them in the same folder where you downloaded them.

What is The Refund Policy?

The resources on Patchwork Marketplace are all delivered electronically. Unlike a physical product, you can’t return a digital item like a PDF file or a Word document. For that reason, all sales on the Patchwork Marketplace are considered final and non-refundable.

However, there are a few exceptions where a buyer may be eligible for a refund. Refunds must be requested within 30 days of purchase and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Damaged File – the resource file is damaged

Duplicate Purchase – you purchased the product twice by mistake

Incorrect Description or Preview – if the description of the product is incorrect or the preview shows a different product, or the technical requirements were not shown or are incorrect and you are unable to access the product

How do I view my free and purchased downloads?

Hover your mouse over MY PROFILE in the top menu.


A list of the products you paid for and the free downloads you’ve requested will show.

How do I view my receipts?

Hover your mouse over MY PROFILE in the top menu.


A list of the products you paid for and the free downloads you’ve requested will show.

Click on ‘View Details and Download’ of the product you want to view the receipt of.

How do I search for products?


Use the Search Bar.

If you’re on a page that doesn’t show a Search Bar, click on the magnifying glass in the top menu. A Search Bar should appear then.


Click on SHOP in the top menu to see all the products available. Use the filter in the sidebar to search for the resource you want.

How do download the items I purchased?


When you purchase a resource, a new page will open up with the links to download your purchases. We suggest you download them to your computer, an external drive or a site like Dropbox.

You will also receive an automatic email that is your receipt and has the links to the resources (the titles of the resources). Occasionally, that email will go to spam. Please check there if you did not receive it.

Alternatively, you can always go to your Patchwork account to access your past purchases. Log-in and hover over MY PROFILE in the top menu. Click on PURCHASE HISTORY to view all your purchased resources with links.

Tell me about rating and leaving feedback for resources

Rating and leaving feedback for the resources you have purchased is an important part of any marketplace.

To leave a rating and feedback on a product please follow these guidelines.

  • Only those who have actually purchased the product can rate it and leave feedback.
  • You must be logged in to your account.
  • Your feedback must be at least 10 words long.
  • Please do not give the product a low rating if you are having technical problems. Contact the author first to resolve it.
  • Please give clear feedback as to why you rated the product the way you did.

Reviews and feedback are not instantaneous. However, all product reviews will show within 24 hours.


How do I contact an author?

To contact an author, go to the product page of the resource you purchased.

Click on the Author’s name in the sidebar. This will take you to the Author’s shop page.

On the shop page, use the contact form in the sidebar to send them an email.

What is 'Add to Wishlist'?

If you find a resource that you might want to purchase at a later date, but you don’t want to forget about it, add it to your Wishlist. As long as you have an account and are logged in, you can add items to your Wishlist to view at another time. Go to your account to view Your Wishlist.

How do I report a resource that has content that I feel is inappropriate?

Please email detailing what aspect of the resource you feel is inappropriate and why. Since we’re a community site, we encourage our users to send feedback to each other and evaluate resource quality through our rating and feedback system.

It’s our policy not to edit or change resource files unless they breach our terms and conditions. Resources that don’t adhere to our terms and conditions may be removed from the website.
