Episode 10: Recreation Programs for Middle School Kids

This week Patti and Curt discuss all things middle school, from program ideas for middle schoolers to what makes them tick. They also share their own experiences from middle school. (Spoiler: it involves some trouble with authority and some unfortunate hairstyles)

AND they tackle the great debate: Pineapple on pizza – yay or nay?

We also learn about one of Curt’s favourite email round table submissions, by Kori Stevens called Random Rocks of Kindness.

Middle School Program Ideas

Patti and Curt discuss what characteristics define middle schoolers, what they’re really looking for out of rec programs … and life, and make some suggestions on activities and programs you can run with this age group.

From community service ideas, to competitions paired with music (and clever names) Curt and Patti list ways you can entertain and engage your youth.

Patti makes a suggestion for getting donations and buy-in from community businesses, and Curt highlights another round table submission, this time by Stephanie Powell.

And they just want to be invited to your film festival… or even just tagged in the photo’s.

Things we’re grateful for

Curt is grateful for pizza, and claims it’s the “greatest food EVER”, Patti is grateful for Curt and his influence on her.
