Episode 15: End of Year Review
In this special holiday edition of the podcast, Curt and Patti take some time to reflect on the many highlights of 2017 and what they’re excited to see in 2018.
2017 held a lot of new experiences for our hosts including becoming a speaker, resigning from a job, starting a business (or maybe more than one?), partnerships with camps, ad agencies, and each other and at least one of them got paid for their work!!
They pull back the curtain on Patchwork Marketplace and the Podcast and share how it all came to be, who comes up with all these zany ideas, and how they became friends in the first place.
They also reminisce about wider trends and discussions that impacted camping, like fidget spinners, J1 visa, and so much more.
Next they looked forward to 2018 where they made some predictions about camping trends, such as themes people will be obsessed with based on popular movies, an entrepreneurial wave that will (hopefully) sweep the industry, and the rise of mental health awareness, among other things.
And we find out that Curt is SUPER excited about the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Can’t wait to see which sport he competes in…
Curt and Patti also share what they’re looking forward to in 2018.
They’re excited about travel plans, new blogs, more content for blogs, and some other very big scary goals!
Although our hosts didn’t do the regular ‘random questions’ we found out that “we should have planned for this” was basically their theme for the year.
On behalf of the Patchwork Marketplace community, our co-founders (& podcast hosts) Curt & Patti would like to wish you a very happy holiday season and a safe and happy New Year.
Thank you for supporting the growth of the camping and recreation industry, we look forward to bringing you more goofy fun and useful resources in 2018 and beyond.
