Episode 31: Engaging Alumni with Jeff Bradshaw
Wondering how to create an alumni program, and keep them engaged? Jeff Bradshaw of Camp Wenonah will give you dozens of great ideas and tips.
Curt can’t believe how accomplished our Canadian podcast guests are. Check out Jeff’s experience here.
Something we’re reading right now?
Jeff and Curt have something in common – they both hated their first resident camp experience, yet both of them made camp their careers. Jeff has been a camp director in 1983. He mentions how camp has been a family affair – all three of his children have had roles at camp, as well as his brothers.
During this interview, Jeff gives a lot of great advice on the different approaches to alumni associations. He also speaks on why every camp should have an alumni program.
Jeff talks about his criteria for becoming a member of his alumni association, including age, length of work, etc. and shares how and when he invites and welcomes alumni into the association. He also discusses how often he corresponds with the alumni association, what he typically includes in his emails, and the type of events he hosts for alumni to keep them engaged and excited.
Jeff is now one of Patti’s new heroes.
