Submitting to the General Store
Interested in submitting a resource to Patchwork Marketplace. That’s fantastic. The summer camp and community recreation industries can always use more wonderful resources like yours. We’re looking forward to partnering with you to make your resources the best they can be.
There are two ways to sell on Patchwork Marketplace. The first is to become a vendor and open your own shop. As a vendor you set-up your own shop and create your own product listings. You have control over your own resources (within limits – we review all resources), you set your own prices, and you receive 70% royalties. If you decide to go that route simply go to your dashboard and click on Vendor to proceed.
The other way is to send us your resources and we will edit and format it as we see fit, set the price and create the listings. Then we will add it to the General Store. This is a hands off approach for you. You send us your stuff and that’s it. You won’t have to worry about pricing, customer service, writing a description and uploading images for the listings, etc. Plus, we will take your resources and polish them up, That may include editing, formatting, adding images, adding a table of contents, creating a cover, etc.. Not to mention that we will include any General Store resources in our promotional efforts. You will still be credited as the author.

The royalty for having us sell your resource in the General Store depends on you. It can be anywhere from 30-50%.
Having created our own resources, we know what it takes to put together one that is useful, reader friendly and attractive. There is a lot that goes into putting together a resource that customers will feel good about purchasing, including proper formatting for readability, editing for spelling and grammar, adding images for aesthetics, writing a good listing description, effective pricing, and more.
The more we have to format and edit your resource, the less valuable it is to us based on the time it will take for us to create a resource worth selling on Patchwork. We want to make sure everything we sell in the General Store is high-quality.
We have no problem taking content that needs a lot of work, but the more work we have to do, the less your percentage will be due to the time involved on our part. So here is the royalty plan we have set in place.
50% 50% Resources that need light editing and formatting (if any), taking less than 4 hours to do.
40% 60% Resources that take 4-8 hours to edit and format.
30% 70% Resources that take 8-12 hours to edit and format.
Once you submit your content, we will get back to you within a couple of days to let you know what your percentage will be based on what you sent us. At that time, you can choose whether or not you want to proceed.
Submissions that will not be accepted include:
- Any that we feel will take longer than 12 hours to edit and format.
- Any that violate our terms, particularly content that is not yours to sell.
- Any that we feel should be offered for free, content that is not enough to charge at least $2 for.
Once we invest our time into a resource, the final product offered on Patchwork Marketplace becomes exclusive to the site. You, of course, retain the rights to all your original content.
